T<\/span>he basket-maker (panar\u00ear) manufactured containers made by wicker and reeds to contain and transport cheeses and agricultural products. He didn’t had a shop, but he carried out his job on the house thresholds, in the quarters.<\/p>\n

The craftmanship of the baskets was performed handly using only a sharp knife. The raw materials were the reeds and the wicker stems that grew at the base of the olive trees. The reeds and the wickers were cut in autumn when the plants are not in vegetation anymore. Before their weaving made with precise and concentric gestures the reeds and the wickers were softened with some water.<\/p>\n

All these operations were followed with attention by the children, enchanted by so much ability.<\/p>\n
